Added HDD mount point Archives

I just added a 500GB internal drive to my system. I searched the forums for
directions. One of the posts said to enter moint point as /mnt. The mount point
/mnt wasn’t allowed, /local was, so I set it to that. Upon trying access it with
Dolophin, I didn’t like it, so I made a directory 'Archives" and used that for
my mount point.

The question is will that cause a problem?

Thanks,
Larry

Not a problem. You can create a new .dir in the tree no problem.

You may find you need to fine tune /etc/fstab
to have all the right permissions.

I haven’t had to into fstab yet. I’ve looked at it briefly, it doesn’t
look inviting.

I followed Swerdnas’ direction and can see /local/groups from my win2k
machines. Archives is next.
