how to add user to my opensuse 11.3 box from a ldap server ? I used useradd but can’t log in with the ldap credentials .

Do you mean you want to add another user on a system that uses LDAP for authentication ?
All I do is use YaST and then Security and Users then User and Group Management. Once there
I select ldap users from the Set Filter dropdown - it asks me for the ldap password and then it’s
pretty much just the same as normal users …
