Dear All,
I need some help in setting Ad-hoc wifi on dual band Broadcom 4312 (Dell Wireless 1490). I just recently moved to OpenSuse 13.1 from Windows and decided to study myself all its nature.
I have an old Dell Latitude D630 and firstly got a problem in finding the driver for WLAN. I used a method described in https://www.blakeanthonyjohnson.com/?p=125
sudo /sbin/yast -i b43-fwcutter
sudo /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware
It worked for me and I found my home wifi network, but after rebooting the settings got lost. I had to do these steps again in order to get it working again, any ideas how can I fix it?But the main issue is the following: while using windows, my laptop was set as a wifi access point (it was connected to home wifi and had an ad-hoc wifi network on the same wifi module - its an dual band one). So my question is following: how to set the same on OpenSuse?I remember that I used “netsh wlan create…hosted network” on windows. Is it possible on Opensuse?I will be very thankful for any help.Alex.
