@Elhossany_Ahmed Hi and welcome to the Forum
ACPI can be ignored, update the BIOS…

Check the output from journalctl -b you may see acpi backlight fighting with amd backlight. Disable and mask the acpi systemd backlight files and let the system use the amd one.

Thank you for your reply ,
I have updated my BIOS to the latest version before posting and yet have the same problem ,
journalctl -b

@Elhossany_Ahmed I suspect it’s the kde powerdevil service, I don’t use plasma, maybe another plasma user can comment if this interferes with backlight:amdgpu_bl1… service.

I do know however, that the Laptop does start the Plasma Powerdevil service and, the Laptop Screen brightness can be controlled from the KDE Plasma desktop – and, the battery status is also displayed – and, the battery status of the wireless Logitech mouse – also …

  • But, on this Desktop, there ain’t no screen backlight and, there ain’t no system battery and, there ain’t no wireless mouse …
Therefore, the KDE Plasma Powerdevil service doesn’t start – and the screen brightness can’t be controlled from the KDE Plasma desktop …

HI thank you for your reply ,
I think my problem mainly due to acpi error as the laptop take 7 min to shutdown or restart , i can’t control screen brightness via media key when i do that screen start dimming but u can control the brightness via system , when i close the laptop lid it doesn’t enter sleep mode and the battery drain when it in sleep mode manually .
I hope that you understand my problem and any one can help me .
Thank you.

Please, check your installation:

  • Please, post the output of “zypper repos --uri”
  • Please, execute “zypper verify” and “rpm --verify --all” and try to resolve any issues due to incorrectly installed packages.
  • Please, check your disk free space – that Laptop may be a model with a small storage device.

Could it be that, there’s something in the “beee08a4 / favogt / symbolictw” repository that’s having an influence on the issues your experiencing?

  • What happens if, you disable that repository and remove all the packages installed from that repository?

Thank you for your reply ,
I have installed Arch, Fedora, Manjaro, EndeavourOS, Garuda, Artix and Ghostbsd ,and yet the same problem .
My hardware is
Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics
8G of ddr4 ram
512G nvme ssd

And, cleaned up the system directories before installing the other distributions?
Or, each distribution in it’s own partition (multiple boot)?
Or, simply installing each distribution over an existing distribution’s system directories?

I have wipe the system and install another distro , but when i install windows every thing just work fine , now i install opensuse again with the same problem

@Elhossany_Ahmed Ignore the ACPI errors, they are benign or can try adding acpi_osi= options on the kernel boot options (YaST Bootloader) to see if that helps.

See https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/admin-guide/kernel-parameters.txt

I have read about it in EndeavourOS WiKi and didn’t work
