ACPI / Does't connect to internet

Hello,

I have encountered the same problems as mentioned in the thread “Does’t connect to internet”,
but have not been able to find a solution. I have long suspected a hardware error, but have not
been able to identify one. However, I have done a “dmesg | grep -i acpi”, and received the
following response:

751.149827] ata1.00: ACPI cmd f5/00:00:00:00:00:a0 (SECURITY FREEZE LOCK) filtered out
751.150144] ata1.00: ACPI cmd ef/10:06:00:00:00:a0 (SET FEATURES) succeeded
751.150444] ata1.00: ACPI cmd ef/90:03:00:00:00:a0 (SET FEATURES) succeeded
756.510022] ACPI Warning: _SB_.PCI0.PEG0.GFX0.DSM: Argument #4 type mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20140424/nsarguments-95)
756.510456] ACPI: _SB

.PCI0.PEG0.GFX0._DSM: Argument #4 type mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20140424/nsarguments-95)

Now my questions:

  1. May the Argument #4 type mismatch have something to do with the unability to connect to the internet (FF and TB, WIFI network
    connected)?

  2. How can I get rid of the mismatch (do I have to)?

Feedback is greately appreciated.
Jan Christian

Hi,

here come partial answers to my two questions:
a1) No (?, see below)
a2) The mismatch is still there, but I am now able to log in, hence I do not need to get rid of the mismatch for login purposes

What has happened is the following:
Yesterday evening, I disconnected the printer (connected via USB) and disconnected the power supply.

This morning, I was able to log in. I suspect a temperature problem (but cannot prove it).

Thanks,
Jan Christian
