I’ve decided to install 11.2M6 for a little play and to test and hopefully contribute by reporting any bugs I come across.
My system is currently configured to dual boot XP and 11.1. Grub is configured to boot from the /boot partition as I require the MBR to remain in tact for my recovery partition to work correctly.
I have made 15GB free space on my HDD. Is this enough for 11.2M6? When it comes to installing 11.2M6 can I reuse any of the existing non data partitions like /swap? I don’t want to mess up my 11.1 installation.
OK thanks. I really wanted to test it on my laptop as that is what I’ll install it on when it becomes GA. For now I’ll put it into VMware then but I really wanted to be able to test the core system functionality, e.g. hibernation, docking / undocking, the video performance, Fn keys, etc which will not really be possible as a virtual machine.
Does the same apply to running the Live CD? Can that cause corruption?
I guess I could install it onto another HDD and swap the HDD but that’s not really convenient.
I would just like to contribute to the debugging before it goes GA so hopefully when it is released most of the things will work out of the box.
