I just wanted to say “Thank you” to the developers and this community for OpenSuse.
13.2 Is beyond awesome and I can’t help spreading the word to those still chained to Windows.
I started following OpenSuse since version 7 or 8, because I wanted an alternative to Windows. I’ve also followed Ubuntu, another fantastic distro but I’ve always loved the OpenSuse GUI.
The past OpenSuse distros failed IMHO because I always spent hours on end trying to get various things to work properly after setup. That was time taken away from the actual work I need to do. The fact I have learned bits and pieces about Linux along the years certainly add to my appreciation of 13.2, and my (still limited) ability to solve OS issues via command line.
I am not Linux savy enough to get my steam - Skyrim working, and my high end 3D graphic package (Lightwave 3d) won’t run in Linux so I must dualboot Win 8.1 but 13.2 have** finally **became my primary OS.
Interesting how I can restore Windows 8.1 to my notebook (Minimized factory restore) and it takes 9 hours including the OS updates. I install OpenSuse 13.2 including updates in about an hour. Amazing.
A most sincere "THANK YOU" to OpenSuse developers and this most helpful community.

Saying “thank you” is of course always a positive thing and we other openSUSE users do appreciate it. But be aware that the developers, to which your thanks are rightly dedicated, do in general not visit these forums.

Welcome, but they probably will not read this. :-p

Learning and experience are the crucial item
IMO, it is not that things get easier, or not that much, but that you
are more experienced and thus you find things easier
It has been said that although Linux is “gratis”, you pay with your own
time and effort. On the other hand, once it is setup, it seldom breaks.

In case you are considering to install Windows after Linux, it is
typically easier to do it the other way round.
But yes, installing Linux is way faster than Windows, specially if there
is a service pack. And personally, I find installing and using Linux far
easier.

You’ve been around here long enough to know the answer to that
question.
But for others in the thread - these are user support forums, generally
user-to-user. We have a few developers who hang out here, but not many,
because they’re working on the code.
