A Phew general questions

hey guys, i couldnt find a general section, so i apologise if this is in the wrong section ^^ im considering trying opensuse, but i have to say im quite attached to archlinux right now. so im curious about a phew situations i may or have faced in the past

im just wondering, how is opensuse at keeping up to date. things like KDE 4.9, gnome 3.5 etc

How is nvidia driver installation, in the past i remember a long process, but with distros like debian, ofcourse its automatic, and archlinux/gentoo etc

How is the repo’s in the gaming departement, like does it contain rare games like true combat elite, and automatic game installations

Does the installer use grub2 yet? or still grub-legacy

Last but not least, whats the best way to get media codecs, and 32bit librarys for multilib and nvidia/mesa 32 bit displayed applications

In future, you would do better to break your message up into specific
questions and post to the specific sections with a subject that’s
descriptive of the question you’re asking.

You might also have a look at:

for suggestions on how to ask questions that will get you useful answers.

We don’t have a “general” section because that tends to get people asking
all their questions there - which makes it far more difficult for people
answering questions to pick questions that they are likely to be able to
help with.

It is “few”

The release of 12.2 has been delayed till september and feature frozen. But there are some
repos that make available the recent versions of a lot of software. I do not keep track of them
myself.

In most cases you just activate a certain repo (hosted at the nvidia site) and download an rpm
from it, with yast package manager. That’s all

Dunno, but you can have a look yourself with a web browser

The new 12.2 has both.

We get most of them from packman.
