A news reader for Gnome in OpenSuse 11.3

Do you have an application to suggest me?
Thank you for an answer

Maybe Pan?
Pan - A GTK+ Newsreader

Hi
@fg7 do you mean RRS news feeds, or usenet? Evolution or Claws Mail for usenet, I think Claws has an RSS plugin. Else there is always Thunderbird.

openSUSE 11.3 comes with Liferea installed so check it out if you have not already found it. If you use avant window navigator it has an RSS applet that shows notifications when news are recieved

I mean an application for reading the newsgruops; it’s like Gnode in KDE ambient: which one in Gnome?

@fg7 Evolution, Thunderbird, Claws-Mail to name a few all are available by default. I currently use claws-mail myself, but may start using evolution when 11.4 is released.

there is quite a list in the forum’s FAQ, here:
http://forums.opensuse.org/faq.php?faq=novfor#faq_nntp
as far as i know all of those will run in Gnome (except Outlook
Express, and i don’t who put that in the list anyway…oh, maybe it
runs in WINE, but why would anyone)…all you have to do is use YaST
to install whatever is not already…

but, if you have pure Gnome environment the first KDE app (like knode
or kmail) you add will add some required KDE bits (not a lot really)
but, then that will support most all the KDE apps you might wanna try…

i’ve run several different clients over the years but am now using
Thunderbird…it works ok…(once you take the time to set it up the
way you want–threading, when to keep, when to dump, new on top or
bottom etc etc etc)
