A minimal PPD customization example?

Hi all,

I bit off-topic, but I’m sure someone here has the answer.

I wish to make some local changes to my printer definition file. I read in the documentation, that I would be advised to use a customization file. I have tried to use the minimal example given in that document but the YaST/CUPS management utilities reject it as “non compliant”? This is my customization file:

*PPD-Adobe: "4.3"
*%My local customization file. Filename: custom.ppd
*Include: "default.ppd"
*%End of my local customisation file

The file referenced in the Include: statement is in the same folder as the custom file (/etc/cups/ppd).

All suggestions welcome, Martin

sorry, i can’t help directly, but if after waiting a reasonable amount
of time here in this corner of the forum, you might wanna do something
else…i don’t which is easiest for you:

  1. ask a forum moderator to move your question to the hardware forum
and change the subject to use the word “printer” and no acronyms in
the subject, like maybe: “PostScript Printer Description File rejected
    as non-compliant”

and, maybe give the page number for the example from the most current
spec…(the one you referenced has been updated…)

or

  1. maybe it would be easier to join the postscript gurus here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/postscript

What if there were no hypothetical questions?

Thank you. Good advice…

I took route 2 and within hours had some feedback. For anyone reading this thread, this is what the gurus have to say about Postscript "*Include:" statements: Postscript Printer Description file rejected as non-compliant?
