hi, i am a little bit new to the whole forum thing and i’ve only been using linux for about a year and a half now. i was wondering who i could talk to every now and then with questions. it would really be nice to know i have someone to help me with a few things. i’m realy excited to get the new opensuse 11!
Well, I’m using Linux since 7 month, but I hope I am able to help with the first steps in opensuse 11. I got mad by updating from 10.3 to 11.0 while getting all data lost. Be sure to make a Backup. You may contact me in German: dirk.janzen(at)gmx.net
Why don’t you post your questions in the public areas of the forums? I think you’ll find most folks to be quite helpful. Besides, if you post where others can see the dialog, others like yourself, who may have exactly the same questions, can benefit. A public dialog helps everyone. A private dialog helps a single person.
Another place is to look for a local Linux User Group (LUG) who can help. they may not know the openSUSE specifics but they should know enough that all you need to do is figure out how to do it in openSUSE.
I don’t know if there is a member search option that allows you to search by location. If so, then Personal Message them and see if they are willing to help you from time-to-time.
Otherwise the forums here are great to get your questions answered (and in a friendly, patient way… not all forums are like that but this one is).
