a ftp server

Hi,
I want, in my opensuse 11.3, to make an ftp server but being a beginner  I have a little tiny problem:
I installed yast2-ftp-server and vsftpd but when I try to start it:
#rcvsftpd start
Starting vsftpd startproc: exit status of parent of /usr/sbin/vsftpd: 1 failed

If I start it from the yast2 interface it says that it starts but ftp 127.0.0.1 returns this error “500 OOPS: could not bind listening IPv6 socket”.

So, help pls

Have you tried disabling IPv6?

When in doubt, use brute force.

in yast-networking there is disabled IPV6
if I use ifconfig I have no ipv6 ip
more /etc/hosts localhost is 127.0.0.1

Solution: You need to edit /etc/vsftpd.conf, locate line: listen_ipv6=yes and change yes to no. voila!
