a doubt about reputation

Guys i want to ask a question to you.just for an information.whom can i give reputations(+1) and what is the importance of a reputation?please give me your ideas.

one correction guys whom might i give reputation?

if you get good advice (that works or helps) give’em a plus…[on the

importance or reputation? not much really because most folks don’t know
about them…and i can’t tell you the number of new folks i’ve seen come
here, ask a question and get an answer from a person with a week
experience in linux/openSUSE and then wonder why their machine is dead!

When you give a plus to somebody, (s)he may somewhere deep inside her/himself be glad that (s)he realy helped somebody.

IMHO saying: “Thank you, it worked” (or similar) in the thread itself is just as usefull.
