A couple of gnome questions

After many years of using KDE I thought I’d give gnome a try. So I installed gnome 3.34.4 and everything seems to be working pretty well except that I can’t find any way to figure two-finger horizontal scrolling with the touchpad. Vertical scrolling works but horizontal scrolling isn’t even available as an option. Am I missing something?

One other question: Is it possible to create different email identities in Evolution? I don’t mean full separate email accounts, but identities like the ones that can be created in kontact.

I’m not a Gnome user, but what is reported by the following command?

sudo libinput list-devices

*You may need to install ‘libinput-tools’ first.

What options are available via ‘gnome-tweak-tool’?

As long as libinput is installed and natural scrolling selected, both directions should work…

@OP are you running wayland or x11?

If x11, is xf86-input-libinput installed?

For the evolution query, not sure I don’t use it, but do you mean a sending profile (eg email address and signature)?

“Natural scrolling” is irrelevant, “two-finger scrolling” enables what the OP is looking for, I can confirm that both axes should work.
But it might be HW dependent or jeopardized by the synaptics driver…

Not sure what you’re looking for either, but in Evolution you can create multiple “accounts” each consisting of a set of receive server/address, send server, reply options, signature etc. and you can create multiple accounts with the same receive address if you like to.

The gnome tweaks doesn’t offer any horizontal scrolling option. In the test area I can single click, double click and emulate a middle click with three fingers. Vertical scrollilng also works in the test area.

Hmm, I chose “gnome” from the login menu and not “gnome with xorg” I’ll see if I can start with wayland.

In Kontact you can simply add email addresses as sending identities without having to configure an entire email account with passwords, mail servers, etc. It’s very convenient. It doesn’t seem like Evolution has that option.
