So dancing cows is kind of funny, the but the $25 computer looks just like the $35 one, minus the dancing cows. So, by deduction, it costs an extra $10 to get (lots of) cows to dance it would seem.lol!

It uses more board space for the connectors than for the chips!

Yeap, I think this is because they are so eager to get airplay running. Imagine a device like that…connector free.
Besides, I was reminded of the time when me and my brother where playing on a Sinclaire ZX spectrum on an old TV in the cellar.
You know what…I am getting old!!! lol!
I loved that device and its rubber keyboard.
The new minipc is still under development. But I think I will have a look too, it is cheap enough to be a bit crazy and to buy it.

That computer is in the making for some time. Can you call it a
computer? Well, maybe.
But most importantly, it can allow anyone to hack the system. Is this
openhardware?
I did not enjoy the music to the cows. But the cows very really funny.

Windows, supports nearly all software, hardware, and viruses.
Rejoice they sing - They worship their own space - In a moment of love,
they will die for their grace - Don’t kill the whale
I think this is a product that is the typical case of the hardware coming even before the business idea. There a a lot of possibilities for such a device. Hacking is the last thing that would come into my mind. But domotics, camera surveillance, miniature flying apparatus, maybe ship and aeronautic models with complicated moving / navigation patterns. Mini-train-landscapes and their control. I don’t know, a lot comes into my mind. Even solar panel regulation, whatsoever.

With hacking i meant to go beyond what was intended. Whatever is
possible to do with such a small device.
See, i remembered. One of the guys is David Braben who did Elite on the
computer. He is one of the outstanding guys really.
That device could server as my mediacenter. Lowpowered, maybe in
conjunction with a SDD drive.

Oh, sorry, I didn’t get it. Yes, I think the hardware is open (in the sense of specs, of course royalties go to the IPR owners / producers, all other thing would surprise me), the whole project is meant apparently to be as flexible as possible. I really like the idea. Stunning.
Some closed source and binary blobs seems to be needed for the graphics with the System-on-a-Chip (SoC - Broadcom BCM2835). Libraries, codecs, OSS | Raspberry Pi (posted on 2012-01-31)
