64bit flash glibc memcpy and stuttering playback

I am now getting a very stuttering playback of youtube videos with Adobe flash on 64 bit Suse 12.1 and I understand that it is a combination of changes to glibc with regard to memcpy and the way that the odd Adobe use overlapping buffers with memcpy in their flash implementation that causes this. I understand that some other distributions distribute an .so file that can be used with LD_PRELOAD to provide a more conventional version of memcpy that does not suffer with this issue.

Any chance of sorting this for users of Suse. I do realise that many videos on Youtube do render perfectly well with Gnash but some of the things like TV series insist on Adobe Flash.

The recent flash update is buggy and many have rolled back to the previous flash 11.1
or
Disabled Hardware Acceleration in the flash settings

Although you are raising a issue which is a little different to those affecting most of us

I may be being naive but I suspected it related to this https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=638477#c31 but perhaps that is long under the bridge.

I’d just be glad to see the back of flash altogether.

You didn’t report as to the current version of flash you are using (in connection with the comments I made)

I was using the 11.2.202.228-12.1 I have now found and gone back to 11.1.102.62-7.1 and it now works. With regard to Flash, I am just pleased not to be developing in it, what a horrid IDE.

Good to know.
