I had been running the 32-bit release candidates on this same laptop without issue using the nouveau driver. When RC2 came out I decided to try the latest NVIDIA proprietary driver and was surprised that I got it to work. Now with 12.2 formally released, I decided to try the 64-bit version of 12.2. I wasn’t even able to boot the installation DVD with the BIOS set to use the NVIDIA card, I had to switch to the Intel card (Integrated). Any attempt to use the NVIDIA only BIOS option (Discrete) results in the boot process hanging.
Anyone have any suggestions?
