42.1, screen garbage on X session logout

On freshly installed Opensuse Leap 42.1 I can logon to both KDE and IceWM session. All looks good, however, when I logout, the Display Manager appears on garbaged screen. The mouse cursor disappears, but that invisible cursor is followed by black area. If I enter the password and login again, the situation continues on user X session.
switching to text mode consoles and returning back to graphic one does not help - the strange behavior remains the same.
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace does not help
systemctl isolate multi-user,
systemctl isolate graphical does not help
Only reboot helps.

Does anybody have a clue?

Skylake is cutting edge silicon. Seems like kernel 4.4 is supposed to deal with it’s oddities. DOn’t know if that will help or not for the GPU???

The problem disappears after adding stable kernel SUSE repository
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/
and install kernel 4.4
