3d Effects

I have a NVIDIA gf4 card. I have tried nearly every installation possible to get compiz working.

I have installed OS 11.0 64-bit and my system says the Nvidia card is installed and 3d effects are enabled.

Here is the major problem. When I click on ccsm, it appears broken. The mouse pointer will change like the program is loading but then nothing happens. The same thing when I try to open compiz settings.

However, emerald opens when I click on it, but I cannot use any of the decorator themes.

If I type in compiz --replace, the borders disappear.

Any help?

Did you install your driver from the Nvidia repository?

I have a similar problem in suse 64 bit too, even though my card is an nvidia 7300 gt.
I have installed the drivers and gave the commands indicated in the wiki to have composite the native way.

If i try to enable desktop effects from the little application made by suse the window borders disappear and often everything freezes.

If i try to launch fusion-icon, it will not start and it is installed.

Nothing happens even if compiz is selected as the window manager from the kde (using kde 3.5.10) control center.

Strange…

Can anybody help please?

the borders disappear.
Well, its the main problem that your Driver of graphic does not support.
I think the newer driver would make it.
