I had started experimenting with FreeCAD under OpenSuse 13.2, but it is now no longer integrated with Leap. Is there an alternative (3D) CAD program worth looking at? Or will FreeCAD be integrated as before? If so when?
Cheers
Harvey

You can try bricscad, you can test it free for a month.
You can download the rpm package from their site.
I was using it in 13.2 and now with leap 42.1 an found out it
works better in leap 42.1 no crashes so far though my license is only for the
classic version with no 3d. I use blender for 3d (version 2.76b).

Check on the packman site, if it’s not there yet it should soon be for Leap.

Thanks for the tip. It’s not there yet.

Hi
Unlikely in the near future as it’s not building…
https://pmbs.links2linux.de/package/show/Extra/FreeCAD
Someone needs to fix the OpenCascade package where ever it’s being
pulled from…

In this case perhaps a bug report/email to the packman maintainers.

FYI looks like it’s building and available now.
Yes, I have FreeCAD from one of the repositories.
Thanks
