I sudo zypper dup everyday. I did yesterday. Today I open it up too, do a sudo zypper dup and there are 307 packages along with a tumbleweed snapshot update. Is this normal? Should I be ready for an even bigger update someday?
Yes, perfectly normal, and yes, be prepared for occasional huge updates. Life with a rolling distro!

Since Tumbleweed is a rolling release, it should be fine. And receiving a big update every week or even every few days is normal.

QT6 updated but still we have may QT5 packages (non removable as many packages depends on these) same with KF6, still many packages depends on KF5 so its all mixed up, though all thing working fine 
You may find Phase out of Qt 5? interesting.
on my development work station 500 to 800 is about par for the course per week
with the ocational 3500 updates
307 is nothing
