2nd Laptop Install fails, where does the blame lie?

Hi

Having verified my downloads, and put them on USB sticks I had hopes for an easy install.
Yet again ca-certificates failed, python3 failed and over a hundred more.
Net install total disaster. No DHCP and/or no repo to connect to.

So I went for the install from USB again and chose the generic desktop, keeping the size small meant a running desktop within 30 minutes.

3 Hours later I got the Wi-Fi connected, the devices were detected at install but not connected.

HOW? Removed Wicked Network Manager, and within 3 minutes updates were happening. Yeah I rfkilled, toggled, unblocked and UPped em all prior to the DELETION of that network manager, and this laptop don’t have ethernet port.

So, VENTOY not involved, CheckSums all ticked and a different USB.

AND no expletive idea why it all failed just like before.
