20151017 update: Blackscreen after login with Plasma5 but no problems with KDE Plasma workspace

Hi,

I have a recurring problem with Tumbleweed: When logging in, if I choose Plasma 5 I will have a black screen with a white arrow for a very, very long time. If I reboot and choose KDE Plasma Workspace on the login screen I get the usual KDE desktop. I have nouveau installed for use with GeForce 6600 video card.

I appreciate your suggestions.

I suggest that you install “lightdm”, then switch to using that in place of “sddm”.

Yes, the startup of “sddm” is very slow with nouveau (and a Geforce 6150LE card).
