2004 it didn't work, and 2015 it still doesn't work

Logitech MX310 in 800dpi mode.
2004 you needed to set the xorg.conf InputDevice Option “Resolution” 800 or change the resolution with super user rights from kcontrol.
2015 I still need do the same trick. Use super user rights to set it from kcontrol or figure out which raped and sliced to pieces xorg configuration file I should but the settings to get same result as in 2004. (Thanks to the xorg project I think)
Can I say that this is rather frustrating. Because I plug and unplug the mouse more than often, because using the mouse with laptop.

Without a bug being raised, it makes little sense to expect the issue to
be fixed.

Since it’s a tweak to configuration, I would submit a bug.
