2 HDD, One partition

Hello

Perhaps it’s a quite silly and newbie question but I need to know if it’s possible to do something.

HDD1

  1. partition /
  2. 100 GB unallocated (free)

HDD2 hole disc -> /srv partition 300 GB

Is it possible to merge the 100 GB free of HDD1 to /srv partition ??? To finally have aa 400 GB partition ??? I’m triying to do it wwith Yast and no success…

Thanks !!!

Not possible through direct partitioning. But, you can achieve that through RAID configuration or Volume Management.

Hi,

yes this is possible, you have to use lvm Logical volume management - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for this. It is also possible to configure lvm with yast.

Hope this helps

Thanks you very much !!!

I did it with LVM.
