15.6 Update last night has restricted all logins

After last night’s update, user logins are restricted, receiving a path of “/usr/lib/restricted/bin”, yet $restricted=false! Disabling apparmor, no change.

Cannot find any changed login scripts; … debugging shows it to be happening after normal login scripts (i.e. forcing a path in ~/.bashrc or ~/.bashrc.local has no affect).

Would really like to figure this out as a rollback is problematic - the system is physically a long distance away.

TIA!!

@omnitec You tagged this as Leap 15.5, but use 15.6 in your thread title. Can you confirm which Leap release the system is?

Sorry, . .it is 15.6; the leap-? tags are a little muddy - where can that be found on the system?

@omnitec I fixed the tag, usually running cat /etc/os-release will suffice

That was my first thought, … but there is no “leap-nnn” tag in os-release; thanks for the hint to just contatenate!

DId find the solution - there were changes on 12/9 in /etc/bash.bashrc that I had not tested since then; replaced it and back to normal.

Unfortunately, there are lots of diffs, beyond my bash-fu.

Thanks!
