I just installed 15.6 Plasma and can connect to the Internet, but cannot access NetworkManager. It does not show in my panel. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Is plasma-nm5
installed and the icon marked as “show always” in the statustray?
And clicking on the network icon and the settings icon will open systemsettings with the networkmanager tab.
Thanks for the speedy response. Yes plasma-nm5 is installed. How do I open the Status and Notifications screen you show? When I search for it all that shows is General Behavior, Smart Status and Samba Status.
It is the small downwards pointing arrow in the first screenshot.
Or rightclick in the empty area inbetween the icons to reach the system tray settings (second screenshot) directly.
I got to the fist screen shot, but couldn’t get to System Tray Settings (second screen shot). I think I’m missing something obvious. When I search for System Tray Settings nothing shows.
If you are in the first screenshot (status and notifications), you need to click the red circled button (looks like two horizontal sliders) in the upper right corner.
First screenshot … the bar in the green square is the System Tray in the Panel. You click the up arrow ( ^ )at the far right of the Tray (#1 green arrow is pointing to) and then click on Configure System Tray square icon (#2 green arrow is pointing to).
2nd screenshot …
Doing that brings up the System Tray config (first click the “Entries”).
Then in the list of System Tray items … look for “Networks” and change the option as appropriate.

Basically the same screenshots with different color…
Yea, but my Panel is up top, so a different perspective
