I just did a “zypper dup” on my laptop and got a new kernel. Upon reboot, I saw a red line flash by “Kernel module not loaded”, actually, it was the reboot after I had rebuilt Packman’s broadcom WL src to get the wireless working.
So, I go searching DMESG for both kernel and failure; here’s what I found:
[acpi PNP0A08:00: _OSC failed (AE_ERROR); disabling ASPM/CODE]
Wikipedia: Active State Power Management (ASPM) is a power management protocol used to manage PCI Express-based (PCIe) serial link devices as links become less active over time. It is normally used on laptops and other mobile Internet devices to extend battery life.
I'll look into the DSDT one of these days -- if I can find my old notes on how to do it.
2. I think both of the following have to do with the Broadcom wl rpm that I rebuilt:
bluetooth hci0: Direct firmware load failed with error -2
bluetooth hci0: Falling back to user helper
I don't use bluetooth, and it may be fixed when the rpm is provided...
wl: module license ‘unspecified’ taints kernel.
Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint
probably will be fixed when rpm is provided.
Other than that, everything seems to be working well; can't wait for GM!
