[13.2] yast: where is isdn/modem gone?

in earlier versions I could configure isdn via yast.
however, with 13.2 I am missung such a module in yast.

is there a way the get it back?
or does anyone have instructions at hand how to set isdn up “by hand”? I need it for fax, not for networking

Some yast modules have been dropped in the conversion. You might do a software search for isdn in Yast there are several programs that look like they may be what you need.

the difficult part will probably be setting up the device files and finding the appropriate kernel modules

Yes, configuring by hand can be tedious. I have no experience with ISDN, and it isn’t incommon use any longer anyway. Is your concern more for the modem module or the
ISDN module?

I hope the kernel module for the card is still in the kernel, but “only” has to be loaded.
I will have a look whether I can figure out the isdn and capi configuration from an old installation.

Yes, the kernel modules should still remain. Do you know your card’s chipset details? Maybe the driver for it is already loaded

/sbin/lspci -nnk

I assume you still have configuration files for previous openSUSE version? (If so, might be useful to post here.)

The Arch wiki page has some good info (although some is distro specific)

I think that if you setup the fax with hylafax maybe you do not need to
setup the modem in yast. Maybe.
