Been running openSuse on my laptop for some time. Upgrading to 13.2 and new SSD. The install fails due to no hard drive installed according to the installer however the SSD is there. BIOS sees it fine. After it fails, it drops into the TUI menu. Under Expert, System Information, Hard Disks or CD-ROMS, it also lists the SSD (120G ADATA SP900 clean out of the box). So, not sure what to do to make this work. Any help is appreciated.
Could be the ssd is lock or something I can’t think how they call it.
Unpower your machine, pull the plug for a minute and plug and turn it on.
Worst case is you have to unplug the ssd power chord and replug it again.
If the first one did not work.
Thanks for the tips but neither helps. Same results. I should state this is an older laptop and the BIOS does not have a setting for AHCI. I’ve read many say this should be enabled.
So, just for a different data point, I downloaded Fedora 21 and it saw the drive and installed fine. I then tried to install 13.2 again and it installed fine as well. Not sure what the problem was but I got it installed so I’m happy.
Too bad I had to use another distribution to get suse to install.
