13.1 VLC fullscreen causes logout

Just upgraded to 13.1 (KDE) and I have a problem with VLC. Whenever I watch a video in fullscreen, my system logs out once the video is finished playing. This problem does not occur if the video is not fullscreen. I’ve also tried playing videos in KMPlayer in fullscreen without any issues.

Here’s the VLC related packages I have installed:

vlc 2.1.1-183.1
vlc-codecs 2.1.1-183.1
phonon-backend-vlc 0.7.0git.1384260649-7.1

My graphics is integrated Intel HD4000.

Any ideas what’s going on?

Thanks!

Bugs in the intel driver?
Try the newer version from here:
Index of /repositories/home:/sumski:/bnc847762/openSUSE_13.1

(this fixes some X crashes and is going to be released as online update soon)

So I installed the new Intel Driver which in YaST is 299 something, but elsewhere I see driver 9.2.2. I have kernel 3.12.1 loaded which may be where that comes from, but not sure. All is working just fine, thanks for the repo link.

Thank You,

The shipped intel driver is at version 2.99.905, the new one is 2.99.906.
9.2.2 is the version of Mesa included in 13.1.

Good to heat that the newer driver solved your problems…

Yeah I suspected it was X crashes due to driver, too. The new one you linked worked perfectly and solved my issues.

Thanks!
