The installation check fails, but when I log in with safe mode the configuration continues and finish.
However the default login does end up in a black screen.
I suspect radeon as it show some errors, but how can I solve the problem?

Best regards,

(Sorry for the old signature. I’ll update that, as soon as I have found out how to do that…)
My understanding this far is that the graphic card is very new. Still not fully supported. I installed the latest factory driver (previous version 7.2.0-2.1.2)
This new driver removes the “backlight error”. I can’t find any backlight at all in the log, so I guess it is suppressed/removed. I get a prompt instead of a black screen. (Some improvement at last:) )
This is how the log looks:

From an other forum I saw that the initial boot settings might be wrong.
Anyone that knows how and where to change them when using UEFI instead of BIOS?
I can’t see any problem in my /boot/grub2/grub.conf but I’m not sure that it is even used when running UEFI.
Note that radeonfb (frame buffer) is on the black list below. What does that mean? How do I change it?

I had a similar problem.add the ‘nomodeset’ to the startup parameter of the normal boot. That solved the problem for me.Nevertheless, I stil lhave a problem to get the full Graphics 3D speed running, as only the virtualbox graphics driver is loaded during xinit.
There are 3 primary components to the driver stack:
the radeon drm/kms kernel driver and
the userspace drivers; the radeon xorg driver and the applicable radeon 3d/mesa driver
dmesg is all about the kernel (hence all the radeon drm error messages). The OP updated the radeon xorg driver (hence why the radeon drm error messages persist).
Using nomodeset in the boot line prevents the drm/kms kernel driver from loading on boot. When X starts, the xorg driver can not load because it only works inconjuction with KMS. Consequently, you get a generic driver and your video experience will be less then stellar. There is no 3D support under the generic scenario.
Update your kernel (hence getting a new radeon drm/kms kernel driver) to kernel 3.13 and the errors should be history. (use http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ ). Make sure you remove the “nomodeset” option from your boot command line.
