Greetings!
I have both openSUSE 12.2 and 12.3 running nicely. Both now using KDE
VNC connects to both machines
On 12.2 using KDM version 4.8.5 where there is a place for both username and password, they can be entered and logs in just fine. Very responsive, works great.
On 12.3 which uses KDM 4.10.5 after selecting the username from the list, the page changes, showing the selected username, but no field for password entry. (no change on screen refresh).
If I select “Not listed”, I get a field into which I type a username, but then nothing happens when clicking Sign In. (or Cancel)
BUT WAIT! I FOUND THE WORK-A-ROUND!
after entering your VNC password and getting the 12.3 login screen:
Click “Not listed”. Without entering anything (you then get blank field for username)
do NOT enter username yet
click “Sign In” then the word > Session appears, so
click “Session”
set to “KDE Plasma Workspace”
Then enter the username and
click “Sign In”
Now, it asks for password. but first,
set Session to “KDE Plasma Workspace” again
Enter password and
click “Sign In” again
This works for me!
