I’m attempting to install 12.2 from the downloaded ISO(transferred to a
DVD,md5sum verified).
Upon booting, and selecting Installation, the license screen appears momentarily
and the machine enters a loop where the monitor goes to black, the monitor
appears to enter a power-save mode, then returns from power-save mode, and again
presents the license screen momentarily. This behavior will continue until I’m
able to abort the installation. The duration of this entire loop is less than
10 seconds.
After I abort the install, the system enters what I believe to be a safe-mode(keyboard only)
and a red box appears stating: An error occurred during installation.
I then hit OK and then get the Main Menu. I then hit Expert mode->System
Information -> Kernel Messages.
At this point the screen once again enters into the same loop described above.
After hitting return(OK on the menu) The one error message I am able to collect
is:
udevd[2883]- failed to execute ‘/lib/systemd/systemd-uaccess’
‘/lib/systemd-uaccess/ dev/dri/card0’: No such file or directory.
Both /lib/systemd-uaccess and dev/dri/card0 do exist. Both are owned by root.
Below is OS, hardware and graphics system info.
The box is a Dell Vostro 200, dedicated to Linux(no dual boot).
I’m currently running (and quite successfully):

KDE: 4.7.2 (4.7.2) “release 5”
CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 430 @ 1.80GHz
Max Speed: 1795
Total memory (RAM): 982.2 MiB
Free memory: 120.1 MiB (+ 416.1 MiB Caches)
Free swap: 2.0 GiB
Graphical Information:
Vendor: Tungsten Graphics
Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel(R)G33 x86/MMX/SSE2
OpenGL/ES version: 1.4 Mesa 7.11

Although I’m not sure if it’s relevant, be advised that per Yast2, the Power
Profile is Empty.
I’m happy to provide any additional info you might need in diagnosing.
Thank you all for your help on this.
