12.1 M5 - USB Install problems

So I installed 12.1 M5 from usb because my dvd writer is not playing nice and will not properly burn dvds.

After the installation is done and it reboots into auto-configuration it has an error about connecting to the software source. So I hit "Show Details" and it says something along the lines of:

hdd:///?/dev/sde1

so when I remove the '?' it works for a while and then asks again. I then remove the '?' and it finishes configuration.

But now when I try to install software it is giving me the same error, but no chance to change the path and remove the '?'.

Could you shed some light on this? And why is it trying to connect to the usb anyways?

Here is my “zypper lr -d” output:

Try disabling #2 of those repos. I would probably do that with Yast → software repositories, though there is doubtless a command line way with zypper.

Hi
Sure

zypper rr 2

Hello.
Please can you tell me how you could write the image to USB ?
Tried a lot of ways, but didn’t work out.

Hi
I use Imagewriter for the Live CD iso image to USB.

Thank you all for the help! It worked!
I am going to go back to 11.4 for now, I just wanted to see what was new and man, I cannot wait until 12.1 is official! (or at least beta!)

@noir47
first you have to do this then do this

Which one: for *nix, for Windows? And what type and version of ISO image: DVD, LiveCD, NetInstall?
I tries ImageWriter for Win and it’s didn’t work - the program can’t see any iso images. ImageWriter for *nix can’t write USB flash correctly.

Hi
I use on both SLED11 and openSUSE, works fine for me to my 4GB usb drive
with the Live CD’s.

In order to see the isos in imagewriter on windows you have to type

*.*

in the filename box to see all files. It only wants to see a certain type of image, but it works with iso as well.
