I seem to have an issue with the YaST live-installer module of 12.1. Every LiveCD I tried (stock KDE, my own appliance made on SUSEStudio via LiveCD and via Hard Disk) doesn’t install past the “Saving bootloader configuration…” (92%) part. It just hangs there.
It seems to be closely related to the issue in bug #603076. However, none of the workarounds mentioned there work. Killing the ‘scr’ process makes the installer advance, however, it notes that it failed to create an initrd. If I ignore the warning and try to boot a system installed like that manually, I only get a /bin/sh shell (the recovery environment). The Net installer doesn’t seem to be affected, and I haven’t tried the DVD installer yet.
Any ideas about what else I could try? Not being able to install my own appliances is rather annoying… Also, any information that I could provide that would be useful for you?
