openSUSE 12.1 has been dead for ages. Which means you’re missing all kinds of essential updates ( think security ). Repositories (should) have been removed years ago.
Repositories of old, already forgotten, versions are still available from some sites that care for history (e.g. look around at http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/), but as said above, that is the version as released. All the security patches, etc. are not included. Nor are all sorts of extra repos that where available at that time.
To the @OP,
I’d be curious why you believe your app won’t run on a more modern version of openSUSE.
The specific apps you listed still exist so that’s not a problem.
If the issue really is a coding language, usually any changes are for the better.
If you need help getting your app to run, post about that with enough detail others can replicate your situation.
Quite possible. As he started the thread in the wrong sub-forums, he was not forced to choose his openSUSE version from the prefix menu. And he only says “12.1”.
@chaz_d, it is now two days since the first people here took the trouble to answer you, please take the trouble to answer them and provide more information.
