d_hinds you have made valid (and true) points in your message and if things were said that are not helpful in the forum then we as the Moderators here apologize to you for allowing that to transpire. None the less, we are all here for but one purpose and that is to provide help and encouragement to install and use openSUSE. As human beings we can be hurt by others but we all can often say things we regret later. These can be due to all the normal reasons including being tired, sick, under stress, depressed and even I must admit, to having too much to drink. These are reason to be understanding of what is said by others and rest assured that words do get said to others in private when required and I can guarantee anything more than a glazing blow attacking someone else will simply disappear without evidence as to what has happened to it. Anyone who does not understand is welcome to message me in private and I will spell out to anyone that asks. In the mean time, refer back to why we are all here and that is to:

Provide help and encouragement to install and use openSUSE to everyone that asks.

It is indeed related, and directed to “d hinds”. Why is clear, don’t you
think? He is trying to run what he was told to edit. What I quoted is proof
enough of that, no need to quote the entire thing.

I don’t understand why he is doing that. Running text instead of editing
it. I don’t have the patience you show.

Linux is not for people that do not know the difference between editing and
running a file. Sorry.

Thank you Carlos for your unfortunate and groundless opinion. (Yes I did make a mistake). But did anyone here appoint you to determine who can and who can’t use Linux? (Perhaps I should change over to FreeBSD).

The patience (and understanding) you say you don’t have is exactly what you need to be a legitimate, contributing Linux Forum member.

Did you understand that Carlos? Do you know why he said that? He said it because these forums are intended to help those who ask for help get it, not insult them.

If someone doesn’t know how to follow instructions or ask, about how to
edit a file, he should return to Windows. Linux is not for them. That’s my
