11 RC1 not recognizing Attansic L1...

as it should ?!!

i just downloaded 11 RC1
very nice installer by the way but unfortunately no ethernet adapter found hence no Internet :frowning:

now i am just a bit confused after reading some posts here from people having the same issue this should be working by now with the 2.6.27 kernel

Not only that but i went to the wishlist drivers page and this is what i found under Attansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter :

"included in mainline kernel starting with 2.6.25 "
i don’t know what to do anymore

can anyone point me into the right direction

Thank You

The only way to really tell if a PCI device is supported in the kernel is to
examine its PCI ID. Please open a terminal and enter ‘/sbin/lspci -nnv’. Scroll
back to the stanza that describes your Attansic L1 and post it here. If you have
to transcribe by hand, only include the first line, which will look something like

00:0a.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: nVidia Corporation MCP67 Ethernet
[10de:054c] (rev a2)

The numbers used by the kernel for my device are 10de:054c. The first one is the
manufacturer and the second is the model.

Larry

tried lspci

gave me a list with the hardware it found

among these i have
Ethernet controller Athansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet Controler (revb0)

the little network applet i have in the taskbar is greyed out and it doesnt want to connect
it lists a eth0 but disconnected and it doesnt want to connect even with a static ip
I am connected to a Dlink router and it works fine in Vista and Ubuntu

i tried ifconfig. It gives me the eth0 with no ip not even a 169.x.x.x.
iconfig up tells me :

error fetching interface information Device not found

Now i’m lost

Any other suggestions?

Thank You

PS : It doesnt detect properly my Nvidia 7300GS either so i cannot change the resolution either and i a stuck with a 1024x768 on a 22"monitor :frowning:
I am guessing because i don’t have the driver installed but i need the Internet to fix it

Go back and READ what I said!!! You failed to provide the numbers that I
need. The text that you provided tells me nothing new.

The “experts” on this forum do not have time for this kind of round and round.
If you do not provide the information we ask for, then pretty soon we will just
ignore your posts.

So here it is

lspci -nnv

02:00.0 Ethernet Controller [0200] Attansic Tehnology Corp L1 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter [1969:1048](rev b0)

kernel module used atl1

This belongs to Pre-Release/Beta, so moved.

You are talking about 11RC1. You surely mean 11.1, don’t you?

Btw, did you configure the car in Yast > Network > Network devices > network settings?
