I have to say, its getting better every time. Very pleased with the design and the out of the box functionality.
So i will stick for a while longer with my beloved Suse.
The only thing that doesn’t work, but thats not Suse, is Amarok doesn’t see my Audio CD’s. mmm.
Anyway, thanks to all the programers out there to make that happen.
Hope everyone else has as same as a good experience as i have.
As I see in my laptop opensuse 11.4 is perfect. I will wait a few months and then I will start to upgrade in my desktop and server. I must check them in laptop about bugs. As I read in threads 11.4 has many problems.
I did a live upgrade from 11.3 and it worked like a charm. Thank You openSUSE developers, community (especially all the forum folks) and of course the forums admins Everything seems to be faster and work better for me in 11.4.
Yup, I just installed OpenSUSE for the first time since 10.3(maybe I tried 11.0 in virtualbox but not sure). And I’m mildly said, very impressed!
I haven’t really used KDE since version 3.5(well I did try 4.0 in virtualbox but…) so that alone is quite an experience. KDE 4.6 is absolutely amazing. Yast is and zypper are great!
To me personally, both Ubuntu and Gnome are left in the dust (especially after trying Gnome Shell and Unity).
I will try and contribute when I can. I am not exactly new to GNU/Linux, as I have been almost solely using GNU/Linux for 8 or so years on the desktop.
This is my very first ever suse installation after getting pissed at Mint 10 KDE poor dual monitor support!! Since I use my laptop primary for work, I needed something that work out of the box - hence the reason for trying Mint in the first place - so I decided to give suse a try!! Dual monitor setup works with no glitch, no flickering from hell like I was getting with the Mint10 KDE release!! Thank you openSUSE team for a wonderful release, keep up the good work!!! Now, if I can just re-program by brain to replace apt with zypper
Don’t worry it will happen before You know it IMHO it’s much easier to use and control compared to apt.
This is a nice reference : SDB:Zypper usage 11.3 - openSUSE
I installed it too…what can i say, its amazing! Everything just works, great startup, nice desktop, everything installed as it should, codecs, drivers, fonts!!
KDE 4.6 also looks great.
so i wish to thank everyone who worked on this release, both the OPENSUSE team and KDE team. u guys ROCK!
