11.4 - openvmtools - [ warning] [guestinfo] Failed to get vmstats.

Hello Everybody,

im looking at my messages log in /var/syslog/ and after every 30 seconds it is repeated.

Feb 22 10:33:23 hostname vmsvc[2526]: warning] [guestinfo] Failed to get vmstats.

My version of VMtools is up to date it seems - zypper in open-vm-tools

‘open-vm-tools’ is already installed.

This is a server for work and was upgraded from 11.3 to 11.4 two weeks prior to the discontinuation of 11.3 support

/var/syslog/? There is no such directory.

Verify the other related rpms. This is the list for 12.1, yours will have
different versions:

libvmtools0-8.8.0-2.1.2.x86_64
vmware-guest-kmp-desktop-8.8.0_k3.1.0_1.1-2.1.2.x86_64
open-vm-tools-gui-8.8.0-2.1.2.x86_64
open-vm-tools-8.8.0-2.1.2.x86_64
lvm2-2.02.84-19.3.1.x86_64

What exact method did you use for the upgrade?
