Not sure if this is correct place to ask this but here go:
I have the following setup today:
sda openSUSE 11.2
sdb openSUSE 11.4 ms3
sdc openSUSE 11.3 (production)
sdb is my test environment. sda is still around since its the only way I
can power down my system. 11.3 and 11.4 hang on power down. (Another
subject)
I have the 11.4 ms4 dvd made and I want to install to sdb without
carrying over any of the settings. In the past I’ve just formatted and
installed but the settings for the user and root were saved. Want to do
a total fresh install. Reason for not carrying over setting is problems
with Akonadi not starting (tried all the trouble shooting tips), and
Vbox freezing keyboard and mouse when installing XP.
Any pointers to a tip or how to would be appreciated.
Just be sure you format each partition on the target drive in the install partition of the installation. Most settings are in the home partition. Format that and all is gone.

Thanks for the response. I’ll format everything this time. When I
installed ms3 I did an update. Normally I don’t format /boot or /home.
Will post results, hope this will correct what ever is wrong with
Akonadi, it worked on MS 1.
