I just installed the brand new 11.4 on an old Dell Optiplex GX280 box.
After the proxy been set, I tried to open firefox but then, all jumps back to the log in screen. The same happens when I try to open pgadmin.
After logging in, all the open windows are gone.
This doesn’t happen in failsafe mode.
Any help?

i suspect a graphics problem (which might be wrong), but i can no harm
in trying this:
begin reading from the top (so you get the context) this page,

to it, try “The 1st thing to try is to boot from grub with boot code:
nomodeset”
i suspect that will cause the jumping back to stop…if it does then
there is a second thing to try, and so on . . .
