11.3rc1-Gnome: Apps That Should Be Minimized to Taskbar, Disappear

When I minimize an app (e.g., firefox, nautilus, gedit) to the taskbar/panel, I expect to see each of them in a line in the panel, as when they are initiated. However, when I’m minimizing them now, nothing appears in the taskbar/panel. The app “glides” in quickly to the desktop icon (I only have 1, not the default 4) in the applet space on the right, and nothing else appears in the panel. In fact, when the app is initiated, it doesn’t appear in the panel either.

Is there a setting (that I might have mucked up) to restore the functionality I expect (each running/minimized app showing in the panel), or is there a way to get these invisible minimized apps to maximize again, as a workaround?

Nevermind, found the problem. The taskbar-section handles that define the width of the area that active and minimized apps are recorded in, somehow had it’s left boundary moved all the way to the right (to the immediate left of the applets for screen & speaker). Moving this back to the left solved the problem.

Dunno how it got there but, all’s well that ends well.

Would change the OP title to [Solved], but no longer have editing rights my post.
