After installing 11.3 RC2 on a virtual machine in Virtualbox the update applet seems to think it is on battery power, and will only check for updates if forced to.
Anybody else having this problem?
I just installed RC2 in Virtualbox, and I’m having the same issue on my desktop.
Upgraded from RC1 to RC2 on a “real” laptop (no VM’s). The upgrade applet thinks I am on battery power, and after forcing a check, the applet becomes happy until the next boot. I will test on a desktop after the holiday weekend here.

Could you file a bugreport for this following the instruction given at

As I am somewhat new to BugZilla, it took a bit of time, but I found several entries similar to this problem. After the holiday(s) here, the GM was available, and I Zypper updated. The battery problem appears fixed in the GM, and the update applet responds correctly (recognizing battery/AC state).
