I’m confused about patterns et al. I’ve been trying to install from the i586 11.3 DVD a light version of KDE. Basically I disallow the auto-configuration, go into the Software menu, and try to deselect Office (which it only pretends to allow but does not really allow via the “Do not install” RMB menu). I go into “Details” and deselect the office patterns. I do that for “Games” as well. I’m then shown that it is also not going to install all of the KDE system (KDE base, etc).
Given the limited disk space of the install-to device, I need to do this during the install rather than post-install. Anyone know what is the right way to do this?
