i just got my new panasonic toughbook cf-30 ktpaqam. it has touchscreen, gobi modem and rubber backlit keyboard.
the tc was hard to calibrate but i managed it (see cf-29 touchscreen post by other user)
but i still got some probs:
the screenbrightness is not adjustable. its a 1000nit lcd. i need to make it very bright 4 outdoor usage but very dark for indoor. the scroller in kde has no effect on it.
i am pretty sure there must be a way because there is a company which sells this toughbooks with linux.
i would apprechiate any help i can get. i havent even a idea where to start my search.
… a small point of advice, … if you force the people who you want to help you to surf for a thread, the odds are greater that they will refuse to help. The more one makes the helper’s job easier, the more they are likely to help.
Good luck, and I hope you succeed. Sometime in the next couple of years I too would like to purchase a tablet netbook, notebook, or laptop.
by “but i managed it” i implied that i worked it out and i descriebed it in the cf-29 thread. so in this particular incident its not i who seek help but i who offers help.
i think it makes a big difference.
