11.3 M7 - How to configure tablet / touch ?

Hello world,

starting with OS 11.3 M6, my tablet screen isn’t working anymore (It’s a Wacom Digitizer-Screen)

In M4 i had at least a basic functionality - moving around the cursor with the tablet pen and tapping to e.g. open menus.

And now, with the absence of sax2 i simply don’t no were to start at all anymore?

Any clues ?

Kind regards, user2304.

Try M4 again, and keep a copy of its xorg.conf file, and try that on M7.

You should be able to use your previous xorg.conf parameters to create an input class for your tablet.

Good Luck.

Hello,

ok, i found a backup of my OS 11.3 MS 4, but unfortunately, there was no xorg.conf anymore, on the other hand /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d is not there yet.

Do you know, if openSUSE 11.2 yet had the configuration files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf as you described in your linked post? 'Cause i know, that my tabletscreen was working with that version too. I could try to install it again and look for configuration files.

11.2 didn’t have an xorg.conf, unless you made one.

I just installed M7 on a laptop with a Synaptcs touchpad and I discovered that tapping didn’t work because it was disabled in KDE by default. I was able to enable it under Configure Desktop > Keyboard and Mouse, so check there.

Before you do that, tho’, go to YaST and make sure the wacom-kmp modules are installed for your kernel…
