11.3-M5 disable modeset but how ???

In a tutorial on Phoronix
it says you have to use a kernel param xxxx.setmode=1
to activate it.

Now my question is I dont want setmode to be active
I use the nvidia driver and deleted the nouveau driver
No opensource driver without Opengl and 3d

So do i have to recompile the kernel
or is there a param to disable it .

The kernel is the latest from repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_Factory/x86_64/2.6.34-rc5

running opensuse 11.2 with default xorg
(KDE 4.4.2) “release 245”

Not sure about M5, but with earlier milestones it could be disable with “nomodeset” as a kernel boot argument. The kernel was updated to 2.6.34 with M5, but it should still work.
