11.3 KDE 4.4.4 login to Desktop problems

I’m using Suse 11.3 and KDE 4.4.4 and I have two users displayed on my login screen. The first user is tom which when I select it boots into the console screen. I type in startx – :1 and the gui desktop comes up. The second user is tomr [which I created after the clean 11.3 install] and when I select it boots into the gui desktop properly. How do I fix the first user tom so that it boots into the gui KDE desktop?

Try logging in to tomr and then leave; you should get the login screen. Enter tom, Select Session and select KDE. May not work but it seems worth a try.

It did work. Thanks a lot. I’ll see what happens tomorrow morning when I come into work and log back on.
